Inspired by the success of local yacht clubs’ women’s sailing programs—which focus on getting women on the water in a relaxed, pressure-free environment—NCYC is excited to start a similar program open to everyone!

 Program Overview:

  • Goal: Provide a fun, non-competitive way for people to gain sailing experience and enjoy time on the water.

  • Boats: We’ll use the two club O’Days and, if available, other members’ small boats.

  • Skippers: Must be experienced.

  • Crew: Each boat will have one experienced skipper and 2–3 crew members (depending on the boat).

  • Crew Experience Needed: None! Crew members can be complete beginners or have some experience.

  • This is not a racing program. It’s all about learning and enjoying sailing.

Weekly Schedule – Wednesdays on the Water (starting July 9):

  • 4:30 PM – Rigging

  • 5:00 PM – First shift sails

  • 6:00 PM – Second shift sails

  • 7:00 PM – Derigging

We’ll send out a sign-up sheet each week. Based on interest, we’ll run one or two shifts.

How You Can Help:

  • Are you available to be a skipper? Let us know!

  • Do you have a boat you’re willing to use? Great! You’ll be the skipper unless you specify otherwise.

Let’s work together to make this a fun and welcoming way for more people to get out on the water!
