North Cove Yacht Club provides an engaging learning environment to promote the sport of sailing.  The objective of the Club's Junior Sailing Program is to teach sailing in a safe and structured environment to any interested youth.

NCYC employs qualified, certified US Sailing Association instructors who, along with the Junior Sailing Committee, oversee our programs.  For safety, our instructors are certified in CPR and First Aid.  NCYC's programs are based on US Sailing's "Start Sailing Right" curriculum.

In 2017, we will hold three two-week sessions. Please note that each session is ten days (except for Session 2 which excludes the July 4th Holiday) meeting from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm on weekdays.

  • Session 1: June 19 – June 30
  • Session 2: July 3 – July 14 (no class July 4th)
  • Session 3: July 17 – July 28

Youth ages 9 through 15 as of August 1, 2017 may apply for enrollment in one, two or all three sessions. Each session will provide instruction for both beginners and intermediate sailors.  In addition to instruction, those students recommended by the staff will be encouraged to sail in the Edward Godfrey Junior Sailing Racing Series on Monday evenings from about 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm through out the six week program.

    This year's registration fees:

    • $490 per session for Non-Club member students
    • 20% discount per session for students related to NCYC Club members
    • Purchase limited edition NCYC Junior Sailing Gear online (NEW for 2017)
